Pyrethrin is a natural pyrethrum extract with insecticidal medicinal value. It contains pyrethrin I, pyrethrin II, cypermethrin and jasmonate. Pyrethrin has a wide insecticidal spectrum, has a high stomach poison effect, and is particularly effective against chewing mouthparts pests; it also has a strong contact effect and is mainly used to control piercing-sucking mouthparts pests; it knocks down quickly, is safe for mammals, is easily degradable, and does not pollute the environment. In the mid-1940s, before chemical synthetic pesticides such as organochlorine, organophosphorus and amino acid methyl ester insecticides came into being, pyrethrum preparations were widely used to control agricultural pests and achieved good results. Since 1947, the first artificial synthesis of pyrethroids has been successful. Currently, the pyrethroid compounds that have been artificially synthesized include: allethrin (1947), tetramethrin (1963), resmethrin (1965), phenothrin (1968), permethrin (1972), cypermethrin (1973), deltamethrin (1973) and non-tricyclic cypermethrin, etc., whose efficacy and light stability exceed those of natural pyrethroids and three commonly used synthetic insecticides: organophosphorus, organochlorine and carbamic acid. In recent years, synthetic products have gradually replaced natural products, not only for indoor pest control, but also for the prevention and control of agricultural pests.Product Detail
