  Dutandrine is a new 5-alpha reductase dual inhibitor that inhibits both 5-alpha reductase and 5-alpha reductase. It reduced the concentration of DHT more than finasteride (94.7% vs 70.8%) . The 5-alpha reductase inhibitory effect of finasteride was 60-fold greater. At 27 months, the rate of prostate cancer was 50 percent lower than in the placebo group.
