Soluble in alcohol and ether, insoluble in water. Used as an organic synthesis intermediate. It is obtained by diazotization, bromination and reduction of o-nitroaniline.
Application
O-Bromoaniline can be used as a dye raw material, such as azo dyes, quinoline dyes, etc., and as an intermediate for pharmaceutical and organic synthesis. o-Bromoaniline can be used as a pharmaceutical synthesis intermediate. At present, the industrial production method of o-bromoaniline is still a relatively traditional method. Synthesis method
O-bromoaniline, m-bromoaniline and p-bromoaniline are three isomers of bromoaniline. All three are toxic, and their toxicity is more serious than that of chloroanilines. They can be absorbed through the skin, have hemolytic properties, and can cause bladder cancer. They are mainly used as dye raw materials, such as azo dyes, quinazoline dyes, etc. 8-bromoquinoline is obtained by heating with glycerol, concentrated sulfuric acid and o-bromonitrobenzene. The preparation methods of the three isomers are as follows: 1. Using the corresponding nitroaniline as a raw material, react with sodium nitrite in sulfuric acid to generate a diazonium salt, and then react with hydrobromic acid under the action of cuprous bromide to generate nitrobromobenzene, which is further reduced with iron powder in hydrobromic acid; the above three isomers can be obtained. 2. Benzene is used as a raw material, and reacts with bromine under the action of iron powder to generate bromobenzene, which then reacts with mixed acid (a mixture of sulfuric acid and nitric acid) to generate o-nitrobromobenzene and p-nitrobromobenzene (of which the ortho position accounts for 35% and the para position accounts for 65%). The two are separated and then prepared according to method 1 to obtain o-bromoaniline and p-bromoaniline. 3. p-bromoacetanilide is used as a raw material, and refluxed with water vapor in a sodium hydroxide solution to obtain p-bromoaniline.
