Polyethylene is a thermoplastic resin produced by addition polymerization of ethylene, with only carbon and hydrogen elements in its molecular structure. Non toxic, with excellent low temperature resistance (minimum operating temperature can reach -100 ℃), good chemical stability, able to withstand acid and alkali corrosion (except for oxidizing acids), good electrical insulation performance, but poor heat resistance and chemical aging resistance. Depending on the polymerization conditions, the molecular weight ranges from ten thousand to several million. According to different polymerization methods, it can be divided into high-pressure polyethylene, medium pressure polyethylene, and low-pressure polyethylene. In terms of consumption, high-pressure polyethylene is the main component, and the ratio of consumption of high-pressure polyethylene to medium and low-pressure polyethylene is 3:1 to 2:1.
