At room temperature, it is transparent to slightly muddy, colorless or slightly milky liquid. The standard concentration of CaCl2 is about 35% to 45%.

Purpose

Calcium chloride is used in brine, road deicing agent and desiccant used in refrigeration equipment. Because it is easy to absorb moisture in the air, anhydrous calcium chloride should be stored in a sealed container. Calcium chloride and its hydrates and solutions have important applications in food manufacturing, building materials, medicine and biology. Anhydrous calcium chloride is a dehydrating agent and desiccant commonly used in industrial production and laboratories (but can not dry ammonia, hydrogen sulfide and Chemicalbook alcohol), mainly used for drying gases, petroleum, organic solvents, etc., inorganic industry as raw materials for calcium metal and various calcium salts. Calcium chloride is also used as textile sizing agent, water purification agent, antifreeze, food preservation agent, road cleaning agent. CaCl2·6H2O mixed with ice at 1.44:1 is used as a refrigerant in the laboratory and is also an important refrigerant in the refrigeration industry, and a low temperature of -54.9℃ can be obtained.
