LORD Chemosil 225 Rubber-to-Metal Bonding Adhesive - 25 kg (55 lbs)

LORD Chemosil® 225 is a high-performance elastomer bonding agent designed for rubber-to-metal bonding applications. It is a cover coat adhesive used with Chemosil 211 primer to bond rubber compounds to metal and plastic substrates during vulcanization.

Key Features:

• Bonds natural rubber (NR), polyisoprene (IR), styrene-butadiene (SBR), polybutadiene (BR), polychloroprene (CR), nitrile (NBR), and butyl (IIR) elastomers.
• Adheres to most metals, alloys, and rigid plastics.
• Superior resistance to heat and salt spray for long-lasting performance.
• Compatible with spray, dip, brush, or roll coat application methods.
• Designed to work in combination with Chemosil 211 primer for optimal adhesion.

Application Methods:

• Brushing/Roll Coating: Apply full strength.
• Dipping: Dilute with up to 10% xylene or toluene.
• Spraying: Dilute to a viscosity of 18-20 seconds (4mm DIN cup) using 40-60% xylene or toluene.
• Dry Film Thickness: 10-15 microns (0.4-0.6 mil).
• Drying Time: 30 minutes at room temperature (can be accelerated with heat up to 90°C).
• Curing Temperature: 130-180°C (266-356°F) during vulcanization.

Handling and Storage:

• Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area below 25°C (77°F).
• Shelf life: 24 months (2 years) from the date of manufacture in an unopened container.
