Product Overview

Magnesium Stearate (E470b) is a high-purity white fine powder, offered in food grade and pharmaceutical grade. It is widely used as food lubricant and anti-caking agent in food and dietary supplement industries. It provides excellent lubricating property during tableting, prevents powder sticking to mould walls and punches, improves powder flowability and surface finish of tablets. It is chemically stable under normal processing conditions and widely applied in tablets, capsules, pressed candies, powder premixes and confectionery release applications.

2.Insoluble in water and ethanol, but disperses well in powder blends.

3.Excellent lubricating effect at very low dosage, typically 0.25%–2% in tablet formulations.

4.Reduces friction between powder particles and die walls, preventing sticking, picking and lamination during high-speed tableting.

5.Good anti-caking and flow-promoting performance for powder premixes and mineral blends.

6.Chemically inert under normal processing conditions, does not react with active ingredients.

7.Stable at room temperature, avoid high heat and humidity.

8.Food grade and pharmaceutical grade comply with international standards.

Main Functions

1.Lubricating Function: Reduces friction between powder and mould during tableting, prevents sticking and scratching, improves powder flowability and tablet surface finish for tablet and capsule production.

2.Anti-caking Function: Inhibits powder agglomeration, keeps free-flowing property for premix, mineral blend and powder formulations.

3.Release / Anti-sticking Function: Acts as release agent for confectionery and extruded food to avoid adhesion to equipment and mould surfaces.

Applications

Dietary Supplement & Food Industry : Magnesium Stearate is most widely used in dietary supplement tablets, hard capsules, multivitamin and mineral powder premixes, pressed candies, mints and meal replacement tablets. It is the standard lubricant in high-speed tableting, ensuring smooth demoulding, clean tablet surfaces and stable production. It also serves as anti-caking agent in powder blends to maintain free-flowing behavior during filling and packaging.

Confectionery & Bakery: It is occasionally used as release and anti-sticking agent in pressed candies, chewing gum and coated bakery products to prevent adhesion to moulds and packaging.

Cosmetic & Industrial : It is used in cosmetics as lubricant and bulking agent, and in industrial applications as mould release agent, with relatively low consumption in non-food fields.
