Nature:
-hydroxypropyl chitosan is a colorless to yellowish powder. It has good solubility and can form a colloidal solution in water.
- It has high solubility and biocompatibility, and has a good regulatory effect on the viscosity and gel properties of the solution.

Purpose:

Preparation:
The preparation of hydroxypropyl chitosan is usually a two-step reaction:
Hydroxypropylization: The reaction of deacetylated chitosan with hydroxypropyl bromide is carried out under alkaline conditions to obtain hydroxypropylized chitosan.
Deacetylation: hydroxypropyl chitosan is reacted with dilute acid to remove the deacetylation group and obtain hydroxypropyl chitosan.
