Summarize

Chloramphenicol is a semi-synthetic tetracycline antibiotic. It can penetrate the cell membrane and bind to the 30S ribosomal subunit to interfere with the interaction between tRNA and mRNA, and ultimately inhibit protein synthesis. As a broad-spectrum antibiotic and bacteriostatic agent, this antibiotic mainly has very strong resistance against bacteria causing respiratory tract infections, including Mycoplasma pneumoniae and Haemophilus influenzae. In addition, it can also treat infections caused by Chlamydia, Rickettsia, and certain spirochetes, and has antiprotozoal and anthelmintic functions.

In vitro study
Compared with the control group, Doxycyclinehycl ATE10% (DOXY) was significantly toxic to osteoblasts, with a mean cell activity of 84%, and caused alkaline phosphatase activity in osteoblasts (about 56%) to be significantly higher than that in the control group. Doxycyclinehyclate10%(DOXY) may slightly alter the morphology of osteoblasts.
In vivo study
Doxycyclinehyclate is effective in the treatment of acute E.anis infection in puppies. Doxycyclinehyclate(5mg/kg orally) reduces collagenase activity in rabbit cornea. In a rabbit model of alkali burn, Chemicalbook, Doxycyclinehyclate(5mg/kg, orally) promoted the regeneration of rabbit corneal epidermal cells, a result that may be that the drug inhibits excessive collagenase activity. Doxycyclinehyclate prevented 43 percent of mice treated orally, compared to the slow-release doxycyclinehyclate, which completely protected mice from infection and the pathology caused by infection. Doxycyclinehyclate has a bioavailability of 70%, a Cmin of 1mg/L, a Cmax of 2.3mg/L, and a half-life of 7 hours in calves with immature rumen function.
