Ferric chloride is a covalent inorganic compound with the formula FeCl3. It's a covalent compound. It is black and brown crystal, also has thin sheet, melting point 306℃, boiling point 316℃, easily soluble in water and has strong water absorption, can absorb moisture in the air and delix. FeCl3 is precipitated from aqueous solution with six crystal waters as FeCl3·6H2O, and ferric chloride hexahydrate is an orange yellow crystal. Ferric chloride is a very important iron salt.
