Loratadine, an antihistamine, is a commonly used antihistamine. It belongs to the second-generation long-acting tricyclic antihistamine class. It takes effect quickly and has a strong effect. It does not contain hormones. After being absorbed by the human body, it is metabolized into the more active desloratadine. By competitively inhibiting the histamine H1 receptor, it supposes the allergic symptoms caused by histamine and has no obvious anticholinergic or central inhibitory effects. Clinically, it is used to relieve symptoms related to allergic rhinitis, such as sneezing, runny nose, nasal itching, as well as eye itching and a burning sensation. It is also used to relieve the symptoms of chronic urticaria and other allergic skin diseases. Toxicology: No mutagenic or teratogenic effects were observed in animal tests.
