Purpose

Methylbenzenesulfonamidomethylisocyanate is used as a synthetic reagent for the preparation of various or bioactive heterocycles, such as pyrroles and imidazoles. It has been reported that the toluenesulfonamidomethylisocyanate efficiently inhibits [Fe]-hydrogenase.
Reagents for the preparation of bioactive pyrroles and imidazoles; as an isocyanate component, used in the stereoselective Passerini reaction containing sugar-derived aldehydes.
