    1. Applications:

    2. The chemical utilization of isobutylene mainly includes the utilization of mixed C4 extracted isobutylene and the processing and utilization of high purity isobutylene. The former is mainly used to produce methyl tert-butyl ether and tert-butyl alcohol. The latter can be used to produce butyl rubber, polyisobutylene, tert-butylphenol, antioxidants and other organic chemical raw materials and fine chemical products.

    Applications:
    1. Isobutylene is an important raw material for synthetic rubber and can be used to prepare polyisobutylene and copolymers of synthetic rubber.
    2. It can also be used to prepare ethylene propylene rubber, olefinic acids and olefinic amines and other organic compounds.
    3. Isobutylene can also be used as a fuel additive.

    Preparation method:
Isobutene is mainly obtained through the cracking of by-products generated during the petroleum refining process. It can also be prepared by the following methods:
    1. Through the dehydrogenation reaction of isopentane.
    2. Through the dehydration reaction of isobutanol.

    Safety Information:
    1. Isobutylene is irritating and can cause irritation to the skin, eyes and respiratory tract. Appropriate protective equipment should be worn during operation.
    2. Isobutylene is a flammable liquid and can cause flash fires when exposed to open flames, high temperatures or sparks. It should be kept away from open flames and heat sources. When stored, it should be sealed and avoid contact with oxidants.
    3. The places where isobutylene is used and stored should be well ventilated to prevent the accumulation of its vapor.
    4. Isobutylene has certain harm to the environment. When harmful substances spill, immediate measures should be taken for cleaning and treatment.

    Preventive measures
Engineering controls: Enclose the production process and provide general ventilation.
Respiratory protection: Special protection is generally not required. In case of high concentration exposure, wear a self-priming filtering gas mask (half mask).
Eye protection: Wear chemical safety goggles if necessary.
Body protection: Wear anti-static work clothes.
Hand protection: Wear general-purpose protective gloves.
Other precautions: Smoking is strictly prohibited at the workplace. Avoid prolonged and repeated exposure. When entering tanks, confined spaces or other high-concentration areas for work, there must be someone to supervise.

    Appearance:

Isobutylene is a colorless gas with a faint petroleum-like odor. For transportation it may be stenched. It is shipped as a liquefied gas under its own vapor pressure. Contact with the liquid can cause frostbite. It is easily ignited. Its vapors are heavier than air and a flame can flash back to the source of leak very easily. The leak can either be a liquid or vapor leak. It can asphyxiate by the displacement of air. Under prolonged exposure to fire or heat the containers may rupture violently and rocket. It is used in the production of isooctane, a high octane aviation gasoline.
