Nature:
GAB oxydol hydrochloride is a colorless crystalline solid at room temperature, featuring flammability and high solubility in water. It is a relatively stable compound, but it will decompose in a humid environment.

Purpose:
GAB oxydol hydrochloride is commonly used as a protective reagent for keto-aldehyde active compounds in organic synthesis. It can protect the carbonyl group in keto-aldehyde compounds as an ether group to prevent further reactions or selectively carry out reactions of specific functional groups. It can also be used in the synthesis of catalysts and other specific organic synthesis reactions.

Preparation method:
The synthesis of GAB oxydol hydrochloride is usually achieved by reacting chlorinated hydrocarbons with 2, 2-dihydroxyl ethers under alkaline conditions. Subsequently, it is converted into the form of hydrochloride with hydrochloric acid.
