Product Detail

Zinc borate is an environmentally friendly non-halogen flame retardant with the characteristics of non-toxicity, low water solubility, high thermal stability, small particle size, low specific gravity and good dispersibility. As a high-efficiency flame retardant, it is widely used in plastics, rubber, coatings and other fields.

Zinc borate is a white, crystalline powder and an inorganic compound primarily used as a fire retardant, but also as a fungicide, corrosion inhibitor, and in various industrial applications like polymers, textiles, and wood preservation. Its fire retardant properties come from its ability to form a protective char layer and its thermal stability. It is considered to have low toxicity and is often used as an alternative to some halogenated flame retardants.

Primary Uses

It can be used as a multifunctional synergistic additive for antimony oxide or other halogen flame retardants, effectively improving flame retardancy, reducing smoke production during combustion, and adjusting the chemical, mechanical, and electrical properties of rubber and plastic products.

As a partial or complete environmentally friendly alternative to halogen-containing flame retardants, it is widely used directly in the processing of plastics and rubbers such as PVC, PE, PP, reinforced polyamide, polyvinyl chloride, polystyrene, epoxy resin, polyvinyl acetate resin, natural rubber, styrene-butadiene rubber, and neoprene. It can also be used in the production of paper, fiber fabrics, decorative panels, floor coverings, wallpaper, carpets, ceramic glazes, fungicides, and coatings to enhance flame retardancy. It can also be used for corrosion protection, far-infrared absorption, and insect and fungicide treatment of wood.

Widely used in plastics, textiles, polymers, and coatings for its flame-retardant and smoke-suppressing properties, forming a protective layer during fires.
Fungicide and Wood Preservative

Effective against fungi and insects, extending the lifespan of wood and building materials.
Corrosion Inhibitor
