Basic Chromium Sulfate is an inorganic compound with the molecular formula Cr(OH)SO ₄ , usually an amorphous dark green powder or flake, soluble in water, highly hygroscopic, mainly used in leather tanning and also as a mordant in the printing and dyeing industry, etc.

(1) Leather tanning: It is the most important use. As a tanning agent, it can convert raw hides into tough and corrosion-resistant leather, improving the stability and durability of leather, and is a commonly used tanning material in the leather industry.

(2) Printing and dyeing industry: It can be used as a mordant to help dyes adhere better to fabrics and enhance dyeing effects and fastness.
