      Product Detail

Tin ingot is a commercial tin cast into an ingot. It is partially refined but still contains small amounts of various impurities (such as copper, lead, iron, or arsenic). It is a solid tin, different from tin plate. It can be used as a coating material and has a wide range of applications in the food, machinery, electrical appliances, automotive, aerospace, and other industrial sectors.

Product Specifications: Each ingot weighs 25kg ± 1kg; bundled, each bundle weighs approximately 1050kg.

Properties: A silvery-white metal with a soft, ductile texture. Melting point: 232°C, density: 7.29 g/cm³. Non-toxic. Tin is a silvery-white, soft metal, similar to lead and zinc, but appearing brighter. Its hardness is relatively low, allowing it to be cut with a knife. It exhibits excellent ductility, especially at 100°C, allowing it to be rolled into extremely thin foil, down to a thickness of less than 0.04 mm.
Tin also has a low melting point, at only 232°C. Therefore, even with a candle flame, it can be melted into a liquid, like mercury, with excellent fluidity.
Pure tin has a unique property: when tin bars or plates are bent, they emit a distinctive, crackling sound, resembling a weeping sound. This sound is caused by the friction between the crystals. This friction occurs when the crystals are deformed. Curiously, tin alloys do not produce this weeping sound when deformed. Therefore, this characteristic is often used to identify a piece of metal as tin.

Main Applications: It can be used as a coating material and has a wide range of applications in the food, machinery, electrical appliances, automotive, aerospace, and other industrial sectors. In float glass production, molten glass floats on the surface of a pool of molten tin, where it cools and solidifies.
Tin readily combines with iron and is used as an anti-corrosion coating for lead, zinc, and steel. Tin-coated steel cans are often used for food storage.
    Other Uses:
Tin is a component of several important alloys, such as pewter, bronze, and babbitt metal.
Tin chloride is used as a reducing agent and mordant in printing. Tin salts sprayed on glass can form conductive coatings. These coatings are used for antifreeze glass.
Glass sheets are typically formed by pouring molten glass onto tin sheets to ensure a flat and smooth surface.
Solder contains tin and is used to connect pipes and electronic circuits. Tin is also used in various chemical reactions.
Tin foil is often used to package food or medicine.
Tinplate is used to manufacture tinplate, which is rust-resistant and canned goods.
