1. Description

Hydroxyecdysone is a naturally occurring ecdysone steroid hormone widely found in insects, arthropods, and various plants. It serves as a key physiological inducer in the molting and metamorphosis processes of insects. Its molecular formula is C₂₇H₄₄O₇, and its molecular weight is approximately 480.63 Da. It appears as a white to off-white solid powder. In terms of solubility, it is soluble in DMSO (approximately 76–93 mg/mL), ethanol (approximately 86 mg/mL), and methanol, and slightly soluble in water. Its melting point is 237.5–246°C.
