Calcium propionate is a safe and reliable mold inhibitor for food and feed approved by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations. Like other fats, calcium propionate can be metabolized and absorbed by humans and animals, providing essential calcium, a benefit that other mold inhibitors cannot match, and it is considered GRAS (Generally Recognized As Safe). The calcium propionate produced by our company uses high-purity imported propionic acid and ion-exchange membrane liquid caustic soda as raw materials, with stable quality. Due to its high-temperature resistance, its preservative effect is superior to other products. Calcium propionate is an acidic food preservative; under acidic conditions, it produces free propionic acid, which has antibacterial properties. Its antibacterial effect is influenced by the environmental pH value: at pH 5.0, the inhibition of mold is optimal; at pH 6.0, the antibacterial ability is significantly reduced, with a minimum inhibitory concentration of 0.01%.
