A stable, orally active 15-amino-acid peptide (Gly-Glu-Pro-Pro-Pro-Gly-Lys-Pro-Ala-Asp-Asp-Ala-Gly-Leu-Val) originally isolated from human gastric juice. BPC-157 promotes wound healing, angiogenesis, and tissue regeneration through upregulation of VEGF, nitric oxide (NO) synthesis, and modulation of the JAK/STAT, MAPK/ERK, and FAK-paxillin pathways. It does not act via a single receptor but through multi-pathway cytoprotective signaling.

BPC-157 is a multi-pathway cytoprotective peptide, not a single-receptor agonist. Functional effects are observed from ng/kg to μg/kg in vivo. No single EC₅₀ value is applicable.
