Property: Isopropanol is a colorless transparent flammable liquid having the odor of the mixture of ethanol and acetone. It is soluble in water, but also soluble in alcohol, ether, benzene, chloroform and other organic solvents. The melting point is -88.5℃ , the boiling point is 82.45℃ , and the flash point is 12℃ .

Usage: 

As a chemical raw material, acetone, hydrogen peroxide, methyl isobutyl ketone, diisobutyl ketone, isopropyl amine, isopropyl ether, isopropyl chloride, fatty acid isopropyl ester and chlorinated fatty acid isopropyl ester can be produced. In fine chemical industry, it can be used to produce isopropyl nitrate, isopropyl xanthogenic acid, triisopropyl phosphite, aluminum isopropanol, as well as medicine and pesticides. It can also be used to produce diisoacetone, isopropyl acetate, thymol and gasoline additives.

As a solvent on the industry is relatively cheap solvent, wide use, and water can be mixed freely, the solubility of lipophilic substances than ethanol, can be used as nitrocellulose, rubber, paint, shellac, alkaloid solvents. Can be used in the production of paint, ink, extraction agent, aerosol agent. It can also be used as antifreeze, detergent, additive to blend gasoline, dispersing agent for pigment production, fixing agent for printing and dyeing industry, antifogging agent for glass and transparent plastics, etc. Used as adhesive thinner, also used in antifreeze, dehydrating agent.

Storage & handling: The highest allowable concentration in the air is 980 mg/m3, the highest allowable concentration in the workplace is 1020 mg/m3, and the olfactory threshold concentration is 1.1 mg/m3. Operators should wear a gas mask, high concentration should wear air-tight protective glasses.
