Mechanism of Curcumin

Curcumin mainly exerts its effects by inhibiting the NF-κ B inflammatory pathway and regulating the Nrf2 antioxidant pathway: on the one hand, it blocks the release of pro-inflammatory factors TNF α and IL-6, reducing systemic and local chronic inflammation; On the other hand, activating the Nrf2 pathway increases the levels of glutathione and superoxide dismutase in the body, clears free radicals, and resists oxidative stress; Simultaneously regulating the activity of cyclooxygenase COX-2 and lipoxygenase LOX, reducing the generation of pain mediators, and possessing multiple effects of anti-inflammatory, analgesic, antioxidant, and cell protection.
