    Product Introduction


    Phthalic Anhydride (PA, CAS:85-44-9,EINECS:201-607-5, HS Code:2917350000, molecular formula C₈H₄O₃, MW:148.12) is a white lustrous flake or needle crystal with characteristic irritating odor, produced via advanced fixed-bed gas-phase catalytic oxidation of o-xylene (global mainstream process accounting for >80% production) followed by multi-stage condensation and refining. Our industrial grade PA features ≥99.5% minimum purity with strictly controlled crystallization point, color and impurity content, complying with GB/T 15336-2014 and international industrial standards. It exhibits excellent reactivity, readily undergoing esterification, polymerization and condensation reactions, and sublimes easily at room temperature while hydrolyzing to phthalic acid in hot water. As one of the most important basic organic chemical raw materials globally, it is the cornerstone intermediate for plasticizers, resins, dyes and pharmaceuticals, with 65% of global consumption concentrated in PVC plasticizer manufacturing.

    PVC Plasticizer Industry (Core Application, 65% Global Consumption)
    Primary raw material for manufacturing phthalate ester plasticizers including DOP, DBP, DINP and DIDP, which endow PVC products with excellent flexibility, elasticity and processability. These plasticizers are widely used in wire and cable insulation, artificial leather, floor tiles, hoses and films.
    Unsaturated Polyester Resin (UPR) & Alkyd Resin Production
    Key monomer for synthesizing unsaturated polyester resins used in fiberglass reinforced plastics (FRP), coatings and adhesives. Also reacts with polyols to produce alkyd resins for high-performance paints, varnishes and printing inks, improving film hardness, gloss and weather resistance.
    Dye & Pigment Manufacturing
    Intermediate for producing phthalocyanine blue, phthalocyanine green and various azo dyes and pigments, which are widely used in textile printing, ink and plastic coloring industries.

    Packaging & Storage

    Standard packaging: 25kg inner PE lined woven bags; 500kg/1000kg FIBC bulk bags; molten state tank truck delivery available for large-volume customers. Store in a cool, dry and well-ventilated warehouse away from direct sunlight, heat sources, open flames and strong oxidizing agents. Keep containers tightly sealed to prevent moisture absorption and hydrolysis (which causes caking and quality degradation). Dust explosion hazard exists when fine powder is mixed with air; avoid dust accumulation. Shelf life is 12 months under proper storage conditions.

    Safety Information

    Classified as UN 2214, Class 8 (Corrosive Substances), Packing Group III for international transportation. Strongly irritating to skin, eyes and respiratory tract; may cause allergic reactions and chemical burns. Operators must wear chemical-resistant gloves, splash-proof goggles and dust masks during handling. In case of skin/eye contact, flush immediately with copious amounts of water for at least 15 minutes and seek medical attention. Avoid inhalation of dust; ensure adequate ventilation in work areas. Complete MSDS with emergency response procedures is provided with each shipment.
