Calcium Carbide (CaC₂, also known as Acetylenogen, CAS:75-20-7,EINECS:200-848-3, HS Code:2849100000, MW:64.10) is a grayish-black solid lumps produced via high-temperature electric arc furnace smelting of coke and quicklime. Our industrial grade calcium carbide features 285-305L/kg gas yield with strictly controlled sulfur and phosphorus impurities, complying with GB 10665-2004 and international safety standards. It reacts violently with water to release acetylene gas, which is the core raw material for organic synthesis and metal processing. As a versatile industrial chemical, it is widely used in acetylene production, steel desulfurization, metal cutting and welding industries. Packaging & Storage
Standard packaging: 50kg/100kg UN certified galvanized iron drums with nitrogen sealing and pressure relief valves. Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated Class 4.3 dangerous goods warehouse without sprinkler systems. Keep containers tightly sealed and strictly isolated from water, moisture, acids and oxidizing agents. Prohibit open flames, sparks and smoking in storage areas. Shelf life is 12 months under proper dry storage conditions.

Classified as UN 1402, Class 4.3 (Substances which, on contact with water, emit flammable gases), Packing Group I for international transportation. DANGEROUS WHEN WET: Reacts violently with water to release explosive acetylene gas which may ignite spontaneously. Operators must wear dust-proof masks, chemical-resistant gloves and protective clothing during handling. In case of fire, use ONLY dry powder or dry sand for extinguishing - NEVER use water.
