Ethyl Cellulose (EC, Cellulose Ethyl Ether, CAS:9004-57-3,EINECS:618-384-9, HS Code:3912390000) is a white to off-white free-flowing powder produced from natural cellulose through alkalization and etherification reactions. Our industrial grade EC features ≥99.0% purity with complete viscosity specifications ranging from 4cps to 300cps (5% solution in toluene/ethanol 80:20 at 25°C) and two standard ethoxy substitution grades (K-type: 44.0-47.4%, N-type: 47.5-49.5%). It is insoluble in water but readily soluble in most organic solvents, forming tough, flexible, water-resistant films with excellent chemical stability and UV resistance. As a versatile non-ionic cellulose ether, it is widely used as a film-forming agent, binder and rheology modifier in coatings, inks and pharmaceutical industries.
