Apigenin is a natural flavonoid active substance that exerts antioxidant effects by scavenging reactive oxygen species and enhancing the activity of endogenous antioxidant enzymes. It promotes mitochondrial autophagy through SIRT3 to repair damaged mitochondria , inhibit s inflammatory pathways such as NF-κB and MAPK, reducing the release of pro-inflammatory factors like interleukins to achieve anti-inflammatory effects. Additionally, it can regulate cellular signaling pathways such as AMPK and PI3K/TOR, modulate glucose and lipid metabolism, and improve insulin resistance
