2 - Aminoethanol, also known as monoethanolamine (MEA), is an amphoteric organic intermediate containing both an amino group and a hydroxyl group. Its applications span multiple fields, including personal care, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, building materials, and gas desulfurization. In the personal care sector, it serves as a key surfactant raw material; when reacted with fatty acids, it forms alkanolamides, which are used as emulsifiers in laundry detergents, shampoos, and skincare products, offering foaming, foam-stabilizing, and gentle cleansing properties. In industrial desulfurization processes, it absorbs hydrogen sulfide and carbon dioxide from exhaust gases at power plants and refineries; after recycling and regeneration, it can be reused repeatedly, significantly reducing emissions of pollutants in exhaust gases.
