  • Description

As a basic polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon (PAH) feedstock, industrial naphthalene serves as a key supply source for multiple chemical industry chains, including dyes, pharmaceuticals, rubber, and plastics. In the dye industry, it is used to synthesize intermediates for reduction dyes, disperse dyes, and acid dyes, and serves as a core raw material for the production of β-naphthol and naphthylamine, significantly enhancing the colorfastness and weather resistance of dyes; In the pharmaceutical industry, it is used to produce intermediates for active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) in antipyretic, analgesic, and antiparasitic drugs, which are then converted into pharmaceutical intermediates through sulfonation and nitration reactions. In rubber and plastic processing, it serves as a plasticizer and anti-aging agent, delaying rubber aging and cracking while improving the processability of plastic products; it can also be processed into sanitary insect repellent pellets, which rely on their volatility to repel insects and prevent moth damage. In the coatings industry, it serves as a high-boiling-point solvent, enhancing resin solubility and improving paint film leveling. Furthermore, it is used in the production of concrete water-reducing agents, carbon black, leather tanning agents, and catalyst carrier materials. With downstream applications spanning industries such as textile printing and dyeing, pharmaceuticals, building materials, and personal care products, it is a highly versatile and indispensable bulk aromatic basic chemical raw material.

The product strictly complies with the GB/T 2961-2014 national standard, accompanied by a complete set of MSDS, commodity inspection reports, and hazardous packaging certificates, and meets EU REACH import and export requirements. Standard packaging includes 200 kg galvanized closed-top steel drums and 1,000 L IBC containers. For large volumes, bulk transport via tank containers is available. Storing and transporting the product in a sealed, light-protected environment effectively delays oxidation and discoloration. Supply is stable and ample, supporting full-container and consolidated shipments for international trade, and meeting global chemical procurement and custom fine chemical production needs.

    Handling and Storage

    Precautions for safe handling

NO open flames. Closed system, dust explosion-proof electrical equipment and lighting. Prevent deposition of dust. Handling in a well ventilated place. Wear suitable protective clothing. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Avoid formation of dust and aerosols. Use non-sparking tools. Prevent fire caused by electrostatic discharge steam.

Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities

Separated from strong oxidants and food and feedstuffs. Store in an area without drain or sewer access. Provision to contain effluent from fire extinguishing.Without inert-gas blanketing and at the temperature normally used for the storage of molten naphthalene, i.e., 90 deg C, the vapors above the liquid are within the flammability limits. Thus, storage tanks containing molten naphthalene have a combustible mixture in the vapor space and care must be taken to eliminate all sources of ignition around such systems. Naphthalene dust can form explosive mixtures with air which necessitates the design and operation of solid handling systems.
