General procedure: The reaction was carried out in an autoclave containing a 10 mL Teflon reactiontube. The organic layers were washed with brine, driedover Na2SO4, and evaporated the organic solvent by rotatory evaporator. Uses
3'-Chloropropiophenone is a reagent used in the vinylation, alkylation and dienylation of ketones. It is also used in the preparation of thizaine derivatives that show antibacterial activity.
