Saturated polyester resin, with CAS number 25135-73-3, is a linear, carboxyl- or hydroxyl-functional polyester produced from the polycondensation of aromatic diacids and diols, typically including dimethyl isophthalate, dimethyl terephthalate, and ethylene glycol. It is one of the most important raw materials in the powder coatings industry, valued for its outstanding film appearance, excellent mechanical properties, and superior outdoor durability.

In the formulation of powder coatings, saturated polyester resins are used together with crosslinking agents such as TGIC (triglycidyl isocyanurate) or HAA (β-hydroxyalkylamide) to produce thermosetting coating systems.
