It is a clear to pale yellow oily liquid with good compatibility with many cosmetic oils and emollients. Octocrylene is mainly used to help protect skin from UVB and short UVA rays, while also improving the photostability of other UV filters such as Avobenzone, helping maintain the effectiveness of sunscreen products during sun exposure.
