• Apixaban (CAS 503612-47-3), also known as BMS-562247 and marketed under the brand name Eliquis, is a highly potent, selective, reversible, and orally bioavailable direct inhibitor of coagulation factor Xa (FXa). It appears as a white to off-white crystalline powder with the molecular formula C₂₅H₂₅N₅O₄ and a molecular weight of 459.50 g/mol. The IUPAC name is 1-(4-methoxyphenyl)-7-oxo-6-[4-(2-oxopiperidin-1-yl)phenyl]-1H,4H,5H,6H,7H-pyrazolo[3,4-c]pyridine-3-carboxamide.
