              Synthetic Process

              Sodium carbonate is primarily produced by the Solvay process, which involves the reaction of sodium chloride, ammonia, and carbon dioxide in water to precipitate sodium bicarbonate, which is then calcined to produce sodium carbonate. Alternatively, it can be obtained from natural trona ore deposits through mining and purification processes. The anhydrous form is obtained by drying to remove all water of crystallization.
