Vonoprazan fumarate (CAS 881681-01-2), also known as TAK-438, is a novel potassium-competitive acid blocker (P-CAB) developed by Takeda Pharmaceutical for the treatment of acid-related diseases . It has the molecular formula C₂₁H₂₀FN₃O₆S and a molecular weight of 461.46 g/mol . The compound is a pyrrole derivative featuring a 2-fluorophenyl group, a methylaminomethyl substituent, and a pyridin-3-ylsulfonyl moiety, formulated as the fumarate salt . It was approved in Japan in December 2014 for the treatment of erosive esophagitis, gastric ulcers, and duodenal ulcers .
