Product Overview
Tetraammine dichloropalladium(II) is a white crystalline coordination compound containing ≥41% palladium. It is supplied at AR grade for electroplating, catalyst preparation, and the synthesis of other palladium compounds. It is soluble in water and ammonia but insoluble in hydrochloric acid.

Synthetic Process
Tetraammine dichloropalladium(II) is produced by the reaction of palladium(II) chloride with excess ammonia, followed by crystallization and purification.

Mechanism of Action
As a palladium(II) coordination complex, it serves as a source of palladium ions for electroplating baths and as a precursor for palladium catalysts. Its high solubility in water makes it suitable for aqueous electroplating formulations.
