Application (1) Hexyl isocyanate is mainly used as a raw material for preparing polyurethanes. Polyisocyanate hexyl (PHIC) is a type of important helical polymer with a typical rigid rod-like structure. It has broad application prospects in liquid crystal materials, degradable materials, sensors, etc. A large molecule initiator composed of hydroxyl-terminated polybutadiene and hydroxyl-terminated butyl acrylate rubber as flexible segments, and titanium trichloride with cyclopentadiene as a catalyst was used to prepare a macromolecular initiator. The isocyanate hexyl was polymerized to synthesize polyisocyanate hexyl-polybutadiene-polyisocyanate hexyl (PHIC-b-PB-b-PHIC) and polyisocyanate hexyl-polybutadiene-acrylonitrile-polyisocyanate hexyl (PHIC-b-PBA-b-PHIC) two Rod-coil-rod type triblock copolymers. UV and fluorescence spectroscopy indicated that the secondary helical structure stability of the two copolymers decreased with the increase of temperature, and the fluorescence effect of the copolymer solution emitted blue light at an excitation wavelength of 360nm. Among them, due to the presence of hydrogen bonds and intermolecular aggregation effects, the copolymer PHIC-b-PB-b-PHIC can form thermally reversible gels in n-heptane and n-octane solvents. Atomic force microscopy (AFM) characterization indicated that the microstructure of the thermally reversible gel presented a flocculent structure composed of nanofiber belts. Due to its temperature sensitivity and solution fluorescence effect, the copolymer thermally reversible gel has potential applications in sensors, temperature-sensitive switches, etc. [2] (2) Using hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, hexyl isocyanate, N-methylpyrrolidone, etc. as raw materials, and dibutyltin dilaurate as a catalyst, a hydroxypropyl methylcellulose derivative can be prepared by a one-step method. This derivative is a polyurethane material. The hydroxypropyl methylcellulose derivative dissolved in N-methylpyrrolidone can be used to prepare a solvent removal precipitation type in situ gel [3]. (3) In the field of nanomaterials, using hexyl isocyanate and hydroxyl-terminated polybutadiene as raw materials, under the condition of the presence of organic titanium catalyst, a highly active nano calcium hydroxide can be prepared [4]. In the field of medicine, using 5-fluorouracil (5-FU), hexyl isocyanate and cyclohexyl isocyanate as raw materials, and N,N-dimethylaminopyridine (DMAP) as a catalyst, through the N-urea reaction, 1-hexylaminocarbonyl-5-fluorouracil (HCFU) and 1-cyclohexylaminocarbonyl-5-fluorouracil (CHCFU) can be prepared. Compared with the methods in the literature, the yields have increased from 72.1% and 66.7% to 93.2% and 89.8%, and the reaction time has also been shortened by 3 hours and 1 hour respectively [5]. In addition, it can also be used to prepare anti-wrinkle agents, ink catalysts, and other chemical products.
