Drug Information

Drugs used to cause dilation of the blood vessels. (See all compounds classified as Vasodilator Agents.)

Flosequinan has known human metabolites that include flosequinan sulfone.

7-fluoro-1-methyl-3-methylsulfinyl-4-quinoline

Flosequinan Use and Manufacturing

Fluoroquinolones without antibacterial effect can directly dilate veins and arteries, thereby reducing preload and afterload. It has an inhibitory effect on inositol phosphate and can make the calcium stored in the cell flow. There are also some positive muscle strength effects. Used for patients with congestive heart failure that does not work on diuretics, those who cannot tolerate ACE inhibitors, or those who have ACE inhibitors in the treatment regimen and cannot be cured.
