Titanium carbide Use and Manufacturing

Methods of Manufacturing

Titanium dioxide reduction method uses titanium dioxide and carbon black as raw materials to prepare titanium carbide: fully mix high-purity titanium dioxide and carbon black at a mass ratio of 68.5:31.5, and the dry powder mixture is pressurized to form (block), using a horizontal carbon tube furnace or a vertical carbon tube The furnace is reduced at 1900-2300°C under a hydrogen atmosphere to obtain block TiC, which is crushed to obtain a powder product.

Uses

Used as a cermet, it has the characteristics of high hardness, corrosion resistance and good thermal stability. It can also be used to make cutting tools. Used as a deoxidizer in the steelmaking industry.
