BOC-D-LEUCINOL97 Use and Manufacturing

(1) Di-tert-butyl dicarbonate (4.1 g) was added to a solution of 2-amino-4-methylpentan-1-ol (2.0 g) in THF (40 mL), and the mixture was stirred at room temperature overnight. The reaction mixture was concentrated under reduced pressure, and the residue was washed with a mixed solvent of hexane/ethyl acetate (=5:1) to afford tert-butyl (1-hydroxy-4-methylpentan-2-yl)carbamate (3.7 g).
