Description
L-GLUTAMIC ACID MONOPOTASSIUM SALT is white, free-flowing, hygroscopic pow- der; practically odorless. Freely soluble in water; slightly soluble in alcohol. Refer to description for monosodium glutamate.
Monopotassium glutamate Use and Manufacturing
The L-glutamic acid obtained by fermentation is neutralized with potassium hydroxide or potassium carbonate, decolorized, and purified by crystallization.
Flavor enhancer, salt substitute. L-GLUTAMIC ACID MONOPOTASSIUM SALT is a flavor enhancer that is a low sodium alternative to monosodium glutamate. It is used in meats, soups, sauces, gravies, and sausage.
Drug Function and Efficacy
When liver function is severely damaged, ammonia metabolism in the body is disordered, leading to hepatic coma. After intravenous infusion, this product can combine with excess ammonia in the blood to form non-toxic glutamine, which dissociates ammonia through the action of glutaminase in the kidneys and is excreted in the urine, thus alleviating the symptoms of hepatic coma. This product also participates in brain protein metabolism and sugar metabolism, promotes the oxidation process, and improves the function of the central nervous system.
