Description

Otilonium Bromide is an antimuscarinic used as a spasmolytic agent.Target: mAChROtilonium bromide inhibited the generation of ACh-induced calcium signals in a dose dependent manner (IC50=880 nM) [1]. Otilonium, a clinically useful spasmolytic, behaves as a potent blocker of neuronal nicotinic acetylcholine receptors (AChR). Whole-cell Ba2+ currents (IBa) through Ca2+ channels of voltage-clamped chromaffin cells were blocked by otilonium with an IC50 of 6.4 microM. Otilonium inhibited the

Drug Information

Drugs that bind to but do not activate MUSCARINIC RECEPTORS, thereby blocking the actions of endogenous ACETYLCHOLINE or exogenous agonists. Muscarinic antagonists have widespread effects including actions on the iris and ciliary muscle of the eye, the heart and blood vessels, secretions of the respiratory tract, GI system, and salivary glands, GI motility, urinary bladder tone, and the central nervous system. Drug Function and Efficacy

Spammin belongs to a class of antispasmodic and anticholinergic drugs (ATC number: A03AB06). This drug has a selective and strong antispasmodic effect on the smooth muscle of the digestive tract, so it is suitable for all hyperkinesia, spasmodic reactions caused by different causes and different parts, and pathological atrophy of smooth muscle fibers.

This ingredient has been used in drugs with the following functions (note: it does not mean that the ingredient itself has the following health functions)
