Description

White to Off White SolidAmbrisentan is a selective endothelin-A (ETA) receptor antagonist introduced for the oral treatment of patients with pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH), to improve exercise capacity and delay clinical worsening. It is the third ET-receptor antagonist to be marketed for this indication behind bosentan and sitaxsentan. PAH is a rare disease of the small pulmonary arteries characterized by vascular proliferation and remodeling, resulting in a progressive increase in

Ambrisentan Use and Manufacturing

Nonpeptide endothelin ETA receptor antagonist. Antihypertensive

Drug Function and Efficacy

Ambrisentan is a receptor antagonist that is highly bound to ET (Ki=0.011nM) and has high selectivity for ETA receptors (4000-fold). It can inhibit vasoconstriction and cell proliferation caused by endothelin-1 (ET-1), and plays an important role in the onset and progression of pulmonary hypertension.

This ingredient has been used in drugs with the following functions (note: it does not mean that the ingredient itself has the following health functions)
