t is synthesized from cyclopentyl bromide and potassium hydrosulfide. Or it can be synthesized from cyclopentanone dimethyl dithioacetaldehyde and four moles of a certain alkali metal; it can also be prepared from sulfurized cyclopentyl naphthyl in the presence of a metal aluminosilicate catalyst.
