Dimethyl disulfide Use and Manufacturing

Used as a solvent and pesticide intermediate, it is also the main raw material of methanesulfonyl chloride and methanesulfonic acid products; GB2760-1996 stipulates that it is allowed to use food brush fragrance. Purpose Dimethyl disulfide is also known as dimethyl disulfide. It is used to synthesize the intermediates of organophosphorus insecticides fenthion and mitamiphos. Phenol is also used as a solvent and catalyst purifier. Used as solvent, catalyst passivator, pesticide intermediate, coking inhibitor, etc. Dimethyl disulfide reacts with cresol to produce 2-methyl-4-hydroxyanisole, which is then condensed with O,O-dimethyl sulfide phosphoryl chloride in alkaline medium to obtain fenthion. This is a high-efficiency and low-toxicity organophosphorus insecticide with excellent control effects on rice stem borers, soybean heartworm and gadfly larvae. It can also be used as veterinary medicine to wipe out bull fly maggots and cattle ticks.
