The preparation method is to react p-chlorobenzaldehyde with methylamine and acetic anhydride to obtain 2 pairs of chlorophenyl sarcosine. Add 9.0g (0.13mol) methylamine hydrochloride aqueous solution and 5.3g (0.10mol) sodium cyanide aqueous solution into 14.4g (0.10mol) p-chlorobenzaldehyde tetrahydrofuran solution, stir at room temperature for 16.0h, and extract with toluene , Then add 1.0mL pyridine and 5.0mL acetic anhydride, stir the reaction at room temperature for 60.0h, then concentrate in vacuo to obtain an oily liquid. Add this oily substance to 1:1 water/concentrated hydrochloric acid mixture, heat to reflux for 2.0h, cool, dilute with water, neutralize with 50% NaOH solution to pH=2, precipitate a solid, filter and dry, and get 17.3 g of 2-p-chlorophenyl sarcosine, the yield was 82.4%.
2-p-chlorophenyl sarcosine is an intermediate of the insecticide chlorfenapyr.
