Diclomezine Use and Manufacturing

Methods of Manufacturing

Succinic anhydride and toluene undergo Friedel-Crafts reaction, and then chlorinated at low temperature to generate 4-methyl-3, 5-dichlorobenzoylpropionic acid, and then chlorinated at 50°C so that the hydrogen atom on the carbonyl carbon atom is replaced by chlorine. Finally, it reacts with hydrazine to generate pyridalonil.

Uses

A new pesticide fungicide is highly effective against rice sheath blight.
