Bis(2-cyanoethyl) ether Use and Manufacturing

Methods of Manufacturing

Add the strong alkaline resin deposited on polystyrene with quaternary ammonium salt into water, heat to 45°C, slowly add acrylonitrile dropwise to the surface of the liquid, after the addition, react at 45-47°C for 4-5h. The reactant is vaporized at atmospheric pressure to remove excess acrylonitrile, and then distilled under reduced pressure to collect the distillate at 119-120°C (0.13kPa) to obtain the product 2-cyanoethyl ether. The yield was 77%.

Uses

Used in organic synthesis.
