4-Methoxy-1-naphthaldehyde Use and Manufacturing
General procedure: The mixture of hydroxy-naphtalene-carboxaldehyde (1 equiv.), K2CO3 (1.5 equiv.) and alkyl halide (1.5 equiv.) in acetone (12 mL/mmol) was stirred under reflux for 4e24 h. When TLC showedcomplete disappearance of the starting materials, solvent wasevaporated under reduced pressure. The residue was purified bycolumn chromatography on silica gel (cyclohexane/EtOAc 90:10 to 70:30)
