Brotianide Use and Manufacturing

Methods of Manufacturing

Using 5-chlorosalicylic acid as raw material, in the presence of phosphorus trichloride, it is condensed with p-bromoaniline to 5-chloro-N-4'bromophenylbenzamide, which is brominated and chlorinated with thionyl chloride. Then it is replaced with thioacetic acid (or sodium sulfide) and acylated to obtain bromosulfuramide.

Uses

This product is an anti-liver fluke medicine, and it has a good anthelmintic effect on larvae of fluke. The worm reduction rate of 4-8 week old larvae infected acutely with Fasciola hepatica was 72-100%; 97-100% for 8-10 week old larvae. The rate of extermination of 6-10 week old larvae with subacute liver schistosomiasis was over 96%; the rate of worm reduction of 10 week old larvae reached almost 100%. The worm reduction rate of 10-week-old larvae and adults of chronic liver flukes was 89-93%. For severely infected diseased animals, the dosage of 10.5mg/kg, twice the medicine, at intervals of 30 days, the insect reduction rate can reach 995. For outbreaks of severely infected diseased animals, in order to completely remove larvae, treatment must be repeated once after 30 days. The amount of treated goat milk can increase by an average of 19% without affecting the milk quality. For the effect of fluke trematode, according to 2.5-10mg/kg administration, the rate of insect reduction can reach 95%. The product has little toxic and side effects and is well tolerated. Sheep oral LD50 is 40-45mg/kg. The therapeutic index is 4-7. Due to its low toxicity, it can be used for pregnant animals, newly delivered animals, lactating animals and lambs.
