1-Methyl-4-(6-nitro-pyridin-3-yl)-piperazine (1.11 g, 5.02 mmol) and 10percent Pd/C (110 mg) in MeOH (15 mL) were stirred for 5 h and filtered. [1-METHYL-4-(6-NITRO-PYRIDIN-3-YL)-PIPERAZINE (L. LLG, ] 5.02 mmol) and 10percent [PD/C] (110 mg) in [MEOH] (15 mL) were stirred for 5 h and filtered. The filtrate was concentrated to give 951 mg (99percent yield) of a yellow solid that was used without further purification. 'H NMR [(CDC13)] : [8] 7. 78 (d, 1H, J = 3.0 Hz), 7.18 (dd, 1H, J = 3.0, 8.9 Hz), 6.48 (d, 1H, [J] = 8.9 Hz), 3.08 (dd, 4H, J = 4.9, 4.9 Hz), 2.61 (dd, 4H, J = 4.9, 4.9 Hz), 2. 37 (s, 3H).General procedure: 4.1.42. Tert-Butyl 4-(6-aminopyridin-3-yl)piperazine-1-carboxylate (11a); A suspension of tert-butyl 4-(6-nitropyridin-3-yl)piperazine-1-carboxylate (15.4 g, 50 mmol) in CHTo a solution of compound 5-7 (3 g, 13.5 mmol) in MeOH (300 ml) was added Pd/C (3 g).
